A very enriching and enjoyable talk I will say; one of the more entertaining ones I had been to. The speaker gave a 'chim' talk (in the words of Dr. Bala)...will say didn't manage to catch all the points, but some of the things pointed out are social capital and economic integration.. The Q n A was especially those there will definitely agree, interesting questions, sensitive ones; it's a battle of wits and words.ha
but one thing that Prof Møller said during the Q n A when someone ask wad youths can do for peace rang a bell in me. he talked about in europe where youths go to another university in another country for exchange, to improve ties between countries. Isn't that wad Mr. Ikeda is being doing? to allow Chinese students to come Soka U for exchange to know more about each other? and how he invited Chinese performers to Min-on for cultural exchange?
Dr. Balakrishnan is also a gd chairperson, though it was supposed to be his 'off-day' (no need to give speech as he always will need to), he still gave his profound insight on some of the questions (mostly the more govt or politically related ones)..but can really see he is a very amicable person, and from his ans, he has high hopes on the youths in singapore.
but think ultimately, wad i think i learn/feel, peace still begins with the transformation of the self
